As the price of battery storage decreases, the viability of building large scale battery storage increases. On October 23 the Australian Renewable Energy Agency officially commissioned a 30 MW battery storage system in Victoria.

Ionity a joint venture of BMW, Daimler, Ford and Volkswagen is planning to open 100 ultra-fast electric vehicle charging station this year in Europe with plans for a European network of 400 by 2020. This new network is believe by many to be the most inmportant electric vehicle charging infrastructure effort since Tesla's supercharger network. Each charging point will have a capacity of 350KW i.e. a half hour charge will give a Tesla driver about 270 Km in extra driving range.

Our Electrical Engineers have been busy reading up on the new wiring standard AS /NZS 3000 – 2018 changes that were published on 26 June 2018. There are a few changes from the old 2007 standard.
