In response to the lack of LED standards, Lighting Council of Australia has introduced a Solid State Lighting Quality Scheme.
The SSL Quality Scheme is a voluntary industry program providing confidence to the market that a luminaire carrying the Scheme's label
matches the performance claims made by the supplier.

Power Banks on Planes
As of December 2025, major Australian airlines have introduced new restrictions on power banks after several in-flight fire incidents linked to lithium batteries. You can still bring a power bank onboard in your carry-on luggage, but you can’t use it during the flight or charge it using the aircraft’s power.
