The Haron Robson team were commissioned by AMG Sydney to boost the visibility and image of their Sydney Airport dealership. The brief was to provide a strong street presence at a cost-effective rate.

The team ensured that light elements had to mirror brand guidelines and signage, emphasise its dynamic nature, and can be easily modified by a non-technician. Given its airport location, light emission was to be controlled in all directions with minimal uplight spill and that there was to be no back light to ensure the basic nature of the structure was not highlighted, and light is not visible within dealership windows. A system of louvres, lights and signage emits and reflects light and serves as a shading structure for solar energy efficiency serves as a shading structure for solar energy efficiency, and the addition of red accents that will be visible during the day and night.

As concepts were visualised, models were created, and systems were costed, sourced, and tested for output, weatherproofing, and colour, communication was a key element throughout the process.

While the overall layout and profiles of the louvres were being finalised, prototypes were created, tested, and options for achieving the desired light quality and effects were considered. The Haron Robson team created a systemised LED, cabling, trunking, and support solution that used colour contrast, form, and finish to control light direction and reflection. Several LED technologies were tested, measured, and trialled. The solution was developed and delivered in a short time frame.
